Hmm hmm...Very interesting online wind (information, well-grounded rumor)...
Very human, indeed, but very unAmerican, at the same time...Ex-State Secretary Colin Powell's Obama support has downgraded the general propriety of the U.S. presidential election, transforming it to the humdrum street level.
Hmm hmm...Possible but incredible...I say possible because the United States is
also the land of the ordinary human beings, who have immigrated from the world
all over and Mr. Colin Powell is also considered a human being with the the urge to belong to and receive recognition from the others.
Hmm hmm...Possible but incredible...I say incredible because the United States of America is not an ordinary country but the only super power and because Mr. Powell has been a great soldier cum statesman who had played a major role in the Gulf War as the commander of the very war, elevating the U.S. status high among nations. But all the exploits of his had been attained through the efforts of the G.O.P. and its government to which Colin Powell had belonged.
Powell's last minute announcement of his public endorsement of Barak Obama has contributted to downgrading his life-long reputation as a great soldier and statesman into the labyrinth of the third-grade politico as we see in the political arena of such small country as Korea. The politicos, who have tended to change sides to pursue their own political interests here in Korea, have been derided as "migratory birds." Colin Powell has infamously become one of such seasonal birds.
Powell's last minute endorsement of Obama will not do Obama any good, who might not like the idea, either. In other words, Powell's political betrayal might backfire. My theory is that his extremely perfidious behavior harbors an enormous danger of touching the Yankees' dormant nerve cells of racism by which the huge number of white Americans might be tempted to turn around, from Obama support, alas, to join the Maccain camp.
